Cambodia Casinos

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, where casino gaming is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a relatively tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect area, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal capital accrued from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be mainly Thai; however, funding sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00, and although visas are supposedly necessary to pass, there are methods around this, as is accurate of most border crossings.

The original Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge gambling den, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty tables. The Naga gambling hall is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, four tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slots and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slot machines and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and ninety six table games, including 87 punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and 66 of the common gaming tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 casinos in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around vacation and hotel compound that highlights many comforts on top of the gambling hall, which contains 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machines and 88 table games.
