Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia gambling dens that sit just across the border from nearby Thailand, where gambling den wagering is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are situated in a relatively small space in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime destination, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai laborers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal capital accrued from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a couple of limitations requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; still, funding sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 1700, and even though visas are allegedly necessary to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is accurate of many border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau casino, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty table games. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slots and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety six table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the common tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an international resort and hotel building that highlights many luxuries on top of the gambling hall, which provides 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slots and eighty eight gaming tables.
